I left the Marlborough hotel camping area at 6. Wow, so late!<\/p>\n

I would categorize this as a pretty perfect day. Sixty five kms on undulating terrain, nothing very steep, not much sun so it stayed reasonably cool, no rain, little to no traffic, and ending up on the bank of the Fitzroy River right beside the Glenroy crossing.<\/p>\n

Nice creek along the way, just not quite far enough for a day’s ride<\/p>\n

No more termite mounds but they are still building up in the trees<\/p>\n

A few vehicles have come by since I got here, and everybody waved and 👍 when they saw me soaking in the water. I do share my relative privacy with a few hundred cattle, that keep wanting to cross the river at this point because it’s so easy over the causeway. But, other then being very concerned about my presence and loudly letting me know, they are very well behaved. Also a fellow came by to measure the quality of the water since this river is the water supply for Rockhampton. Then some oversized machinery came by on a big flatbed. And a big water hauling truck was here twice to fill up, apparently to water some roads. It’s good that none of all this traffic came by when I was using the road. There is so much more traffic everywhere compared to the last time I rode the trail. But hey, this is peanuts compared to yesterday along the Bruce!<\/p>\n
