Wednesday 6 Feb 2019<\/p>\n

A rest day in and around Ebor, starting out with breakfast in Mushgang’s trailer. It was a bit of a drizzly day, so a good day to not be in the saddle. After our leisure brekkie I went into town to mail on most of the parcel I’d sent to Ebor on to Aberdeen. Had coffee and scones at the FussPot Cafe where I had hoped to upload my blog from the past five days, but the connection still wasn’t great, so I left it for later. Met a couple who have ridden their road touring bikes almost all around the country. They are almost done, another 500 or so kms to their home at the Gold Coast, and they have already ridden over 15,000 kms. Interesting though how many of their experiences are so similar to mine. Struggling with steep hills is something we all have in common. Then more coffee at Mushgang’s where the local postie drops by every day for a cuppa.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon Mushgang drove us to Dorrigo where we started with a coffee stop and the mobile connection was so good that uploading my blog posts took no time at all. Then we went to have a look at the largest collection of steam locomotives in the world. It’s an incredibly impressive assortment of locos and other rail cars, but it is closed off to the public. All because the local council insists that there need to be washrooms and facilities before they can operate as a museum.<\/p>\n

On to look at the Dangar Falls and on the way home we paid a visit to Mushgang’s old mates Fritz and Oskar, his now retired horses that he has done extensive travelling with on the BNT.<\/p>\n

Back in Ebor we had dinner at the pub and then called it a day.<\/p>\n
