I meant to leave before dawn, but there was a tremendous downpour and many smaller showers overnight. Was I glad to be under the metal porch roof! Noisy, but virtually dry. Will try the early departure again tomorrow. That 35\u00ba heat really seems to get to me. It&#8217;s okay for lazing around, but the slightest uphills become a countdown: almost there yet? Even though you know there are many more to follow. There is more rain in the forecast and no metal roof above me today.
