Yesterday the Australian government granted my request for an extended visa, since the standard 3 month visa would not have been long enough to accomplish what I want to do.

So today I got my flights booked, leaving for Brisbane on November 10th. I still have to arrange for a connecting flight to Cairns, but it is all starting to take shape. Yahoo!
