As I said before I spent a few days off my bike in the wonderful company of Neil, Annette and daughter Hannah. It’s been a blast and I didn’t get the impression that they minded having me around for this length of time. We did a lot of fun things together: feed cottonseed to some of the cattle, swim in Kroombit Creek, errands in town, a visit and smoko at his uncle’s a 2 hour drive away, picnic and swim in Cania Gorge, overnight at their friend Girlie’s place near Monto, dinner at the Mungungo Pub, a VIP tour around Mount Kroombit which is right in the middle of their property, and many other activities. At home we enjoyed delicious meals, lots of laughs, and Neil, who grew up here and is 4th generation land owner here, is incredibly knowledgable about all the roads, trails and tracks in a wide area around here and has pointed me to the best route to take through Kroombit Tops National Park.

Today, Christmas Day, some friends and family will join for xmas lunch. Then tomorrow morning early I’ll be heading out to tackle Kroombit Tops and Neil insists he’ll drive me to the start of the trail, at 4 in the morning, to where the National Park begins, saving me an hour’s ride along the paved road.

Thank you dear friends! This has been, again, a fantastic visit. I hope one day I can treat you the same way as you’ve treated me!
