Not a great distance today, but neither particularly interesting. Very flat country. I think I was in the same gear for about 25 kms, no little ups, no little downs, and even very few bends in the road!

I broke another spoke somewhere here, which was the 5th or 6th one this trip.

Got to Grenfell at 10:30 and went for coffee and carrot cake right away. I decided against going to the caravan park which shows rates of $32 on WikiCamps and opted for the free (or by donation) old railway station. It’s been restored, although still a work in progress, by the Lions Club and there are toilets, a handsome picnic shelter and town as well as tank water.

However, riding around the grounds my rear tire managed to pick up a half dozen puncture vine thorns, goat heads, cat heads, whatever, it’s all the same miserable weed. It resulted in three actual punctures which I patched in the picnic shelter. I think I deserved a brew by now.

Today’s totals 46k 2:35h 215m+ 130m-
