Lyndhurst

Another easy day. And don’t I love them! In no time it seemed I had reached Mandurama where I took a smoko break at the corner cafe.

I don’t think I have ever mentioned this before, but probably starting around Tenterfield there was the occasional apple tree alongside the roads. Lately though there are wild apple trees all over the place. I come across many of them each day and they make for a perfect little snack. Pretty tart, not fully ripe yet, but welcome anytime.

Lyndhurst was only another 10k, and although it took me a while to find the “primitive campground” there, it is just perfect. It has a tennis court connected to it as well, with an open shack (club house?), with water tap, benches, tables, tennis rackets your can use, a take-one-leave-one little library, power point, plastic wine glasses (!) and nobody else around. So clearly I’ll set up inside the shack and forego the use of my tent fly. And some of my ($11 for 2 litres) vintage Port will taste so much better from a decent plastic wine glass than from a metal mug, even if it is titanium.

There is even a pub in this little community, another “Royal Hotel”, so I again won’t have to resort to my dry kibble. I love it!

This was an easy day, pretty country, very, very enjoyable.
