Well mates, I’ve made it to my final destination as originally planned, Canberra.

It started out a very cold 5º this morning in Yass. That is a new record, the previous one being 6º, but I forget now where that was. I also started out with a flat rear tire, which had to be patched first and it turned out a previous patch had failed. Hmmm, what’s happened to my patching skills?
I was in no rush to start out in that cold so it was 8:30 by the time I finally started rolling. Again following very pleasant roads with little traffic and some gravel sections. Dog Trap Road, I love the name, was half gravel and unfortunately miserably corrugated. But other than that no complaints. I stopped in Murrumbateman for coffee, had a chocolate bar break another 15 or so kms further on, and soon after that arrived at Hall, which is already just inside the ACT (Australian Capital Territory for the not-Aussies).

After another coffee break in Hall it was the final stretch to my friend Malcolm’s house in Charnwood. After only 5 kms I got to the superb bicycle pathway network of Canberra. Oh what a pleasure to be away from any traffic!

Kenny and his girlfriend Claudia were home and let me in, and on the dining room table was a bottle of red wine waiting for me. I must have quite a reputation! I’m very much looking forward to spending the next days with my friends here!
