Nebo

Wed, 5 Dec 2018 update

Yes! I did get a lift! Rode from Blacks Beach to the Nebo road (via McDonald’s and an egg McMuffin) and at the Puma Station got a lift from a mine worker within about a half an hour. I was glad, because it is actually a very busy road with almost non existent shoulders and big trucks and other oversized vehicles.

No more free camping at the show grounds in Nebo, so I set up in a little caravan park without any obvious attendant. Mayhap they’ll come by later. A room at the hotel is $80 and I decided against that. Collected my parcel at the PO, took from it what I think I’ll need during the next 9 or so days, and mailed it on to Mount Morgan. I’ll get to St. Lawrence before that, but I won’t need to stock up on anything there. I’ll have a last good meal at the pub/hotel tonight, then head out tomorrow early. It feels good to be back on the trail. I skipped quite a section from Ravenswood to here. I hope the good feeling lasts! Apparently most creeks have water, which is a good start.

We may get a few days without reception, so next update might not be until I get to St. Lawrence, about 4 days I reckon.
