(10º at 6:00, brrrr! That’s been the coldest yet!)

A super easy day! I didn’t feel like riding all the way to Walcha, almost 70k, so I decided to stay in Uralla and break it up in two easy stretches.

Uralla is another historic little town, very much smaller than Armidale, but with some nicely restored and maintained buildings, perhaps not quite as exquisitely done but impressive just the same. And they hand out the most marvellous elegant guide for a self-guided walking tour at the visitor centre.

There is even a brewery in town, but alas, they are closed today 😒. However, their pale ale (it’s okay, nothing too special) is served next door at the Top Pub, and I noticed at the visitor centre some cans of their IPA, which I shall try as well. (It is much better, nicely hoppy). The kind people at the caravan park gave me a handful of ice cubes so I was able to cool it down to a more pleasant drinking temperature.
